About the work: “Spirit” showcases Spirit, a Dream Works character from my formative childhood years. This piece references a character who yearns for freedom, and in this work has had its legs cut out from underneath it. Legs replaced with an illusion of success, the character is stuck as a rocking horse, rocking back and forth in the same place; Americana at the reins.
